How placement works
Some businesses pay for a package that puts their listing higher in results. We say so on every listing that does.
Paid placement is labelled

A Featured or Premium badge, with the words “paid placement”, means the business pays for a package that puts it higher in results. Every listing with one of these badges links to this page.
How results are ordered
- By default, listings are ordered by package placement first. Within the same placement, the most recently approved comes first.
- “Recently approved” sorts by approval date alone, and “A to Z” sorts by business name. Neither gives paid placement any advantage.
- Some packages also show a listing on the home page.
- Ordering never uses ratings, reviews or our opinion of a business's work. We don't rate or rank suppliers on quality.
What paying does and doesn't change
- A business has to be approved before it can pay for anything. Paying doesn't make it approved, and being approved doesn't depend on which package it chooses.
- Paying doesn't change what “Approved” means: read what it does and doesn't mean.
- Every listing, paid placement or not, is public only while its yearly package is paid.
